While this may seem like a positive thing, it becomes negative when you consider that he will go to any lengths, no matter how cruel or brutal, for their benefit and for their safety. However, on the other hand, he is fiercely protective of his friends and what they built together: in the main timeline Nazarick and the NPCs, in the Sidestory timeline Keeno. And if people he meets happen to make a positive impression on him, especially by reminding him either of himself or his friends, then he can be astoundingly generous, even to an illogical degree. On his own he is polite, respectful, friendly, surprisingly kind, and tries to be mindful of others. So, his motivations are neutral, with a strong moral basis, but his methods for achieving these are sometimes evil. To him, it is right to protect those he rules, to keep his word, and to repay his debts. Overall, he thinks about what is the RIGHT thing to do, not the GOOD thing to do. Interestingly enough, due to his vision of a utopia for those he rules, there is a limit to what the NPCs can do. Due to the nature of the NPCs who are offering suggestions, the small scale acts are often considered evil. On the grand scale, he does everything for the benefit of himself and those he cares about. ![]() Essentially, he looks past most of their negative traits, out of nostalgia. On top of that, while the NPCs were designed to be evil, he sees them all for the people who created them. He was suddenly in a position of REAL power, and couldn't ask an equal how he should use it. When he was thrust into NW, not only did he become an undead with only a trace of his humanity, but he also lost any way of contacting his peers. So, all his moral peers were in his guild. Due to the nature of society, the game was practically the only place he wanted to be. As a human, the vast majority of his socialization happened in Yggdrasil. I think it's a very interesting perspective. But he is head of an evil organisation so his actions are evil.Īinz is evil because of his actions. So Ainz loyalty to his guildmates makes him see the npcs as their children. They were written to be evil so they are. They werent role playing evil like the character momonga. His only motivation is his role as a caretaker and the hope he might find his friends.īut the npcs of nazzarick are evil. He baseline and controls any thing which takes him to an extreme. He no longer feels remorse or any strong feeling. With the undead racial attributes changing his psychology. All he wanted was the escape and he found friends he cherished so much that even after they all quit he remained to caretaker the memories of the time they had together.Īfter transporting to the new world he became his avatar. ![]()
